GI Scan... OMG!

So apparently a upper GI scan is necessary prior to surgery to make sure everything is ok for surgery.  Has any one ever gotten one of these?!  OMG... that stuff they make you drink is the worst!  OK... so first you have to be put on a table for the doc to scan you... they tell you to take a shot of these crystal type things with a chaser of water... nurse told me they are like pop rocks... nope wrong.  She told me they will make me feel like burping but don't.  I gotta say that was almost impossible.  Than, after they do those scans, doc makes you drink this barium stuff that there are no ways to describe the taste.  First the think stuff that is IMPOSSIBLE to swallow but you have to so doc can see how it flows.  Than, to the same stuff but watered down.  Now this was even worse... because you have to do it rapidly and continuously.  I wanted to gag.  Better yet, they couldn't get an accurate scan so I was forced to do this 4 times while one of the nurses gave me attitude.  Seriously wanted to shove that stuff down her throat and see how she feels.  Well that should do it for all the manditory stuff... now to talk to nurse and see results.
